Evernote:WTAL Bishop James - The Phillipian Incident

From Evernote:

WTAL Bishop James - The Phillipian Incident

Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
...
16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.   (KJV - sent from CadreBible)

Why would you get in jail and shout for joy?

Blinded is natural sight to open his spiritual sight. Acts tells the unfolding of the destiny of the apostle Paul. You have to have a personal experience with God for yourself.

We must be so submissive to His plan that we rejoice when the door is open and when it is closed.

God doesn't want you to go to places when you will not be effective. The presence of oxen is the sign of direction.

Even when Paul was wrong he was strong. God will not let your strengths go to waste. With the closed doors comes frustration.

Paul goes down to the washing place of women. A society where women were devalued. The river. The washing place. If you we not too choicey about how and where God uses you... he will open up a door in the strangest place.

When he says no... thank him.

God is working even when it doesn't look like it. No man has sat and ministerd to the women since jesus at the well. What is it about women that only Jesus and Paul knew?

Phillipi was full of religious ideology. Mostly around gods of fertility. The women were thinking that "surely, there has to be more to it than this..." They began to meet and pray down by the riverside.

There is something about women praying that makes God send his choice vessel. When women pray, things began to move.

He heard you!

The bible says the knowledge of god will cover the earth like the waters of the sea. He will give you rivers of living water. Swimming in victory. Wisdom flows likes river. Wealth flows = currency. It flows.

Once you find the river, you can step in the flow. What starts at your ankle will reach your waist. "Meet me at the river!"

Paul will encounter two different women that will usher him into his destiny. Most of the women inthe bible are nameless. These women are named.

Lydia is a woman of power in a society that does not honor woman. She is a woman of business and status. And in town on business, she comes to the river to pray. Lydia has power and purpose. She is not defined by who she's married to. She's blessed. Devout. But thankful.

There is something missing, so she comes to the river to pray. She hears Paul preach and decides that Paul has something that she wants. She got down in the flow. She got baptized and her whole household got delivered. Do not let anything get in your way. She made them stay in her house. She put him in the path that would cause his ministry to explode.

On this path he meets the second woman. No name. She's been hanging out but is not one of them.

She is the woman of pain, whereas Lydia is the woman of power. She is among them but knows she is not one of them. There is nothing wrong with what she says... she has the lingo. She wants to fit in. Real things will always recognize a fradulent thing.

Paul loosed her, and the pain fell off. She had a divining spirit and was being used. Paul liberated her.

Are you free or are you just making noise?

When Paul delivered this woman, it set it off. The men got so angry, they beat Paul, because they couldn't use the woman anymore. Be worried if at any time you take Gods man and throw him in a prison and he starts laughing.

It was a setup to move them into a place of power so they could do what God had planned them to do.

Paul never glorified at his afflictions... these light afflictions are but for a moment...

Weeping may endure for a moment, but joy! They started singing at midnight.

Stop adjusting your praise to what you with your eye. Stand therein. This is your turning point.

And the evening and the morning were the first day. God's days begin in the night.

The jailer got saved... the jailer's household got saved. The angels shook the jail.

At the spot of your greatest hurt will be the place of your ministry.

Bishop Jakes - Your Opposition is Your Opportunity

From Evernote:

Bishop Jakes - Your Opposition is Your Opportunity

(NET) John 7:1-15 After this Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He stayed out of Judea because the Jewish leaders wanted to kill him.

...

:15 Then the Jewish leaders were astonished and said, "How does this man know so much when he has never had formal instruction?"

Your heart comes out of your mouth. How can someone blind see so good?

The whole world has turned its head to hear what you have to say. Do you have something to say, or not?

The communication challenge was one perspective said it was opposition, and the other said it was an opportunity.

As more people love you, more people hate you.

They hate Jesus in Judea- they wanted to kill him. It was dangerous. "it is not my time yet"

To speak at Judea is the greatest exposure, but there is a threat along with the opportunity. Success will taste stressful because your oportunities come wrapped in opposition.

You are most vulnerable to the people who are closest to you. You are no better than the people you have around you.

Take a risk. If it's going to happen, you have to make it happen. Sometimes you have to sneak up on success. Your mouth is too big for where you're trying to go. Hold your peace and let it happen.

God hid Moses in Pharoah's house. Used the man who wanted to kill him to bless him. God is masterful at hiding stuff.

God his his wealth where no one would expect to find it. He hid it in you.

Your answer is hidden in your house. People hire people as an answer to their need, not yours. Are you introducing yourself as an opposition or an opportunity.

Jesus has had a transformation in his thinking that was facilitated by his associations. They are feeding the feeder. Whoever has his ear rules the roost.

Am I seeing this opportunity as an opposition? The Father has hidden my opportunity as an opposition and it took someone around me to challenge the way I was perceiving this situation.

They were looking for him, and he walked right past them. He seized the opportunity because he was no longer looking at it as an opposition.

Jesus at the close of the text is standing on the stage of his enemies.

God knew that the rag and the rock couldn't kill Goliath. God put David's sword in Goliath's holster. "I wil give you houses that you didn't build."

This Sunday is for the dreamers. Is this an opposition or an opportunity. Your dream will cost you something.

Bishop Jakes - Rest in Peace

From Evernote:

Bishop Jakes - Rest in Peace

(KJV) Matthew 13:24-33 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

(KJV) Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Some of the stuff you want is not good for you. We are here to serve him and when you lign up with his agenda, everything you lack will be released.

And here comes the 'But'...

Christ graces us with the intelligence of God. Logos- God's thoughts were made flesh.

He has to chew the wisdom up an hand it to us in a parable... It is 'like'

The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man... The kingdom is likened into a point of authority.

Never question your own significance. God always starts with one. No one can make you greater than what you already were by Gid's prospering.

...Likened unto a man who sows... A man who sows is always looking ahead, a strategy, a plan. A man who eats his seed has no plan. A man who has a plan and sticks to it is unstoppable.

...Good seed... You got to know you're stuff is good. There is no need to sow something defective. Only the strong survive. God never intended for weak seed to reproduce.

I know my stuff is good.

Don't let the circumstances make you lose confidence.

Ain't nothing wrong with it, you just don't know what to do with it!

...in his field... When you reap it, you're foolish not to enjoy it. A man doesn't sow his good stuff in another man's field.

Be a steward over stuff that's not yours. The system exists, all you got to do is watch. It is through the stewards that the But came.

While men slept, the enemy came. If they hadn't fallen asleep, the enemy would not have come. All they had to do was watch.

The enemy wouldn't face them when hey  were awake bc he knew they would beat him. Man cannot remain awake allways. Asleep the body rebuilds and prepares for the next attack.

It is okay to sleep. Even though your tiredness allows attack. They never saw it coming. They woke up shocked!

They didn't know it was there until it began to grow. We don't know about the soil. The seed is so good that the nature of the soil doesn't matter. Sone stuff is so good that it could work anywhere.

A tenacious seed. Refusing to die. Though he slay me, yet will I trust him.

Tenacity. Still here.

All of this happens in the king's domain. When the good seed begins to come up, then the tare showed. They came up together. Whenever the good comes, the bad comes. They both grow up together.

"From whence cometh this?"

You know that your seed is growing when you see the weeds appear. That which is counterfeit will always come up beside that which is real.

You cannot make a copy if you don't have an original.

Some things that happen will make you question the authenticity of your promise. You will doubt yourself.

"didnst not thou plant good seed in your field?"

An enemy hath done this! Don't doubt your self, your seed, or your God!

What do you do when your Miracle and your Miserable grow up at the same time?

They asked if they should go and fix it. In the King's domain you do nothing. Rest in the promise of the Lord.

If you do something, you're going to mess it up. If you go pullin up the weeds you will pul up the good stuff. It's planted so close to the good stuff that it will take divine surgery. It's too early to pull the weeds. You will disrupt the plant.

You can't do it yet, because it's not harvest time. You will disrupt the blessing trying to fix the burden.

The dog barks at the moon, but the moon doesn't bark back. You are too high to mess with someone that small.

The only reason you are under attack is because toy are effective. Don't get distracted.

Rest in peace. God says, I'll fix it into harvest. I started it, I'll finish it. Vengeance is mine. It belongs to me. I knew his was coming. The storm won't stop the process.

The sign of the harvest is when you see the tate gathering together. They will burn together.

Your problems are being bundled.  When they are bundled, then it is time to harvest. That is the time to gather what you have sown.

Rest. He's got you right where he wants you.

Faith is proven when you can sleep through the storm.

Rest in peace.

Bishop Makes - You Better Recognize

From Evernote:

Bishop Makes - You Better Recognize

9/25/11

What God has joined together, let no man put assunder.

Never put your mouth on someone who God has marked.

It's more than being appointed, you must also be appointed or there is confusion.

God does to Miriam what she's been trying to do with her mouth about.Moses. He strikes her wig leopersy. And it came back on her.

Things fall apart.

Meek is strength under control. They confuse meekness for weakness. When you are meek, God speaks for you. God fights for you.

Be still and know that I am God!- You betta recognize.

I will bless them that bless you and curse them that curse you.

You get back what you give out. Stop sowing discord.

God put Moses with the Ethiopian woman, don't speak rebellion against it.

Paul is in Corinth - which is like Dodge City, debacle. They are praising and sinning at he same time. Got a little bit of spirituality. They were getting drunk off communion. And the one who got there first was eating up all the bread.

Corinth is unrestrained in every way. They are quick to party and quick to getting the spirit.

They were open. When he's in, he's all in.

If you eat and drink the Lord's body and don't discern, you will reap damnation. If I don't see it correctly, I will be dammed. In essence, i'm trying to seperate you from the body.

Assunder- tear apart, seperate

Not discerning the Lord's body... communion is a place of connectivity. One bread 12 people. It is unity. When you come together, you are an expression of me. You don't recognize he Ethiopian woman because of what you saw and heard.

How can the foot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"?

He may be weak, he may be wrong, but if God paints him... you better recognize.

If God saves me, shut your mouth.

If he can see Jesus in you with your weakness, than you should be able to see Jesus in him with his weakness.

Many have gone to sleep. They see themselves as saved, but not others. You don't have the right to say who is saved and not saved.

Because you are out of place, things are falling apart.

Until Joseph's brothers recognized him, they lived in famine. When you recognize, you come into a blessing.

Whatever you perceive me to be, I become in your life. Your perception releases me to flow into a new capacity in your life.

Bishop Jakes - Giants Are Always At the Gate

From Evernote:

Bishop Jakes - Giants Are Always At the Gate

(KJV) 1 Samuel 17:12-27 Now David [was] the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name [was] Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men [for] an old man in the days of Saul.

When you see the giant, it means you are about to move into a new dimension.

David has no business in this story other than God has anointed him. Out of his element.

But God.

Don't miss the thing that leads to the thing that god has for you. Don't skip the process. Despise not the blessing of small beginnings. "Eating your dinner in the morning." Shut your mouth. Where you are right now is not your destination, it's just a test. Part of the process. Start where the opportunity is. You are in a position of transition. God is about to take you somewhere.

The process is preparation. You cannot accomplish it mumuring and groaning. Know you not that he is God. Get happy while you're still at the gate.

David was led by a sandwich. God will put you in the position that will lead to the next thing.

You must be able to interact with people who are beyond you. David is there with the best of the best. They were afraid of Goliath. David- the least of them- saw it differently from them. How you see the situation will determine how you deal with the situation. If you have faith for it, you have permission.

It doesn't matter how it starts it's how it finishes. "Handle it!"

Everything in your past, God's going to use it in your future. "All things work together for the good of those who lobe the Lord."

The clued to your destiny is in your history.

He brought you an unorthodox way. A different background an a different style of fighting.

1. He will make you rich

2. He will change your position

3. Your family will also reap in wealth.

The reward was not in fightig Goliath; the reward was in defeating Goliath. When you sustain and survive, you will see that Goliath is not an obstacle, he is an opportunity.

It wasn't David's Goliath, it wa saul's Goliath. You must firstbe faithful to that which pertains to another man. As long as you only work for you, then you have to reward yourself. But if you can work for another, the reward can be greater than you.

God can't bless you if he can't trust you.

Goliath stands at the gate. This is the situation that transforms David and positions him to be king. You don't deserve tour destiny until you defeat Goliath. Goliath is always at the gate.

The gate to the opportunity. A spiritual gate. When you're trying to find your next gate, look for Goliath.

The place where you have the greatest opposition is the place where you will have the greatest opportunity. He giant is just the road marker. It's not about the giant, it about the timing. You will defeat it- using substandard equipment- what you have is all you need. Kill that thing, and talk about it later.

Whatever is standing between you and Gid- kill that thing now.

David stunned Goliath with the sling and rock. He killed him with the giant's own sword.

The very thing that the enemy was going to use on you is the very thing that God will let you use on your enemy. Your provision is in your problem. You have to use what you've got.

The children of Israel arrived at the Promised Land, they reported that there were giants in the land.

If you see the giant, ou are at the gate.

"Lift up your head, all ye gates..."
