Bishop Timothy Clarke - Use What Was Used Against You

From Evernote:

Bishop Timothy Clarke - Use What Was Used Against You

(KJV) 1 Kings 15:16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

(KJV) 1 Kings 15:22 Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none [was] exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

History always tells us:

1. Who we are
Disconnected from their history

2. Where you have come from
When you don't know where you've come from you can't appreciate where you are

3. What you've been through
We must never lose or deny our history.

The enemy was trying to build a wall around praise.

There's too much good stuff you are leaving in the ground. We always shout about the devil Leaving, but we need to use what he left behind.

They will use your past, your pain, and your problems. Rebound and rebuild so that I have a rebirth.

1. Get up
You cannot languish in the lap of luxury of inactivity.

2. Don't give up
We were stronger for five minutes longer.

3. Go up
You are positioned to go up once you develop the intensity and the strength of the other two steps.

Bishop Jakes - Generations

From Evernote:

Bishop Jakes - Generations

(KJV) Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

(KJV) Genesis 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

(KJV) Genesis 17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

(KJV) Genesis 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

(KJV) Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

(KJV) Genesis 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

(KJV) Genesis 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

(KJV) Genesis 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

(KJV) Genesis 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

It' not just about you and your circumstances or conditions. Much of what you are going through is about who is coming after you.

The real test of faith is can you trust and folks God when he says nothing. He sits high and looks low and has everything in his hand.

Abraham had 13 years of failure after failure of trying with his own hand trying to bring about the promises of God. Some truths you cannot have because you are not ready yet. For if God would speak while your opinion lives, there would be war within you.

When you have finally come down to the end o your rope- then God shows up. God appears to Abram and says he's going to tell him who he is. Why now? Why not earlier.

He had to go through the process before he could get to the promise.

God is talking to a man who has no heir, telling him he will be the father of nations when he is having trouble just having one son.

When God speaks there is going to be a destiny change.

The next generation was not about you, but mixing a little bit of you with a little bit of her... The fight is always about what is in you. The enemy is never fighting you for where you are but where you are going.

There are nations inside of you. I am significant!

I'm going to make you a father. A life-giver. There is something inside of you that God's going to use.

Isaac : the Lord has made me laugh

Later Abraham took the son- Father's Day and Youth Conference together. The father and the son walk together.

Three things that happen when generations walk together:

1. Submission: the old man said he was going to a place that he knew not. The wooings of life. Something is pulling you but you don't know what it is. "I'll know it when I see it." the children will learn so much more by how vulnerable and uncertain you are. Bring what you have even when what you have doesn't seem to be enough.

2. Sacrifice: the missing message of this generation. You cannot have success without sacrifice. One generation lays the next generation on the alter. No discipline means no destiny. It would be better that I not be born than to be born and not do what my father purposed me to do. The difference between people who succeed and those that fail is sacrifice.

When you lose your life - you find it.

3. Service: without servitude it means absolutely nothing. What purpose do you serve. Anywhere you can give an answer you will prevail. Anywhere you don't have an answer you will fade away. No assignment means no focus. If it doesn't serve a purpose, it will not succeed.

A father is not optional. You may be a super bad mama but you are still not a daddy.

The devil is after the men, because it is the seed, and to kill he men will break the heart of the women and destroy the home.
