Bishop Jakes - The Battle for the Seed

Bishop Jakes - The Battle for the Seed

(KJV) 2 Kings 4:17-36 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

A Man with a Womb: a WombMan
God equips the woman with everything she needs to nurture the baby when it's time.

I don't care how big you get, when you get sick enough, there's something that wants tour mama.

The mother nurtures the child on her lap until noon. She did what she had done before- all that she knows to do. A loving mother will try everything...

What to do when nurturing doesn't work.

The thing you nurtured is dying in front of your face and slipping through your fingers. The child dies and the woman has a choice: to accept the death or not take it. A difference between the natural mother and the spiritual mother.

She laid him in the prophets bed and shut the door. She didn't have a horse- she saddled up an ass. Not as fast.  She had to ride what she had until she could get what she wanted.

Saddle up what you got and work it til you get it. Ride that thang.

The door is closed on this situation. She wants to get to the prophet bc he is the one who spoke this thing into existence. Bc she now understands that nurture is not always enough.

The woman who has a dead child in the house, who had to ride in on an Ass, tells Gehazi, 'It is well.'

'Surprise!' - you thought I wouldn't keep standing? You bought it was too weak?

It wasn't just her faith. It was that it was the servant, not the man of God. She said there was no purpose in telling her business to someone who couldn't help her.

Gehazi couldn't help her bc Gehazi didn't love her. Don't just watch what they say- watch what they do! They can't help ya, they can't heal ya!

This means war!

Elijah tells Gehazi, 'Leave that woman alone.' isn't it nice to know that God will rebuke your devils for you?

Why did you make me dream? Why did you give me this child when I already knew I was barren? When you give up hope you give up expectations.

A test will become a testimony.

It is the battle for the seed.

I can't even enjoy the service bc I have a dead child at home. I have a dead promise at home.

Gehazi- take my staff and lay it by the child. But the woman said that was not enough. I'm not going back until I get what I want.

I ain't going nowhere!

What do you do when what you learned  doesn't work?

The prophet doesn't work with the woman in the room. He pit he woman out. I know you don't think that anything will work in the life of your child without your help. Step out of that thing. He battle is not yours, it belongs to the Lord.

Gehazi couldnt do it, the mama couldn't do it.

The prophet walked around the house but he was coming back. Here comes Jesus. He devil thought the battle was over.

Mama the lord said that your seed is about to sit up. You've got one more sneeze.

This sees, this promise, this dream that you thought was dead- I'm going to present it to you transformed. I couldn't let you do it, or your friends, or you pastor do it, bc they would have gotten the glory. But God said he would present it back to you transformed.

They opened up the door on what was dead, and there was her baby.

Because it happens gradually, you don't even realize that you ate getting accustomed to functioning with less.

Here's the takeaway: it's not going to be your nurturing, it's not going to be he things you say and do. It is a battle for your future, for your legacy, for your destiny.

Just because the stuff you've tried before isnt working doesn't mean you're going to lose.

"You've Got the Power to Pull it Down"

(KJV) 2 Samuel 5:7-10 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same [is] the city of David.
8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, [that are] hated of David's soul, [he shall be chief and captain]. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts [was] with him.

David was God's man.
When you're anointed you don't go through anything by yourself. You have to be careful not to mess with an anointed person.

David was ready, he was chosen by God- but he didn't immediately set up a website. He was anointed to be king and immediately went back to the place  his father had appointed him to- tend the sheep.

God talks to you about tomorrow while you're knee deep in today. It can make you frustrated. It might take a minute to happen, but it will surely come to pass.

He was anointed to be king but he had to go through the process to be in position to be king.

He had to go through the process: survive betrayal, sometimes it's easier to survive it than to get over it, hatred, arrows from the king he was set to replace.

But nothing would cancel out what God had said. People will change their mind about you, but God will never change what he said. It cannot fail because God has said it.

Theres a word over my life that refuses to fail. It will not return unto me void.

He's moving toward his destiny and he's not a minute early nor a minute late. thank God for the process. To avoid the process is to avoid your destiny.

You have to be groomed for greatness. If you allow God to groom you, he will ultimately make you great. God has brought you to the kingdom for such a time as this.

God give me a second wind!

Some of us are exhausted because we've been fighting thru the process. Fresh joy. Fresh anointing.

You can't go forward unless you recognize where you messed up. And when you recognize where you messed up, you can't stay there and cry. Sometimes failure allows God to teach us a lesson.

David had to anointed three times before he could come into  his destiny. Yours not anointed enough yet!

You can't fight today's battle with yesterday's anointing.

You're trying to stabilize things with the hand of flesh. You need to know that your greatest battle will always be fought at the brink of your greatest opportunity.

I must be at the door of a new beginning!

David is at the kingdom and he's in an area where he needs to take something- there was an enemy controlling the territory. They were in the way of his destiny. New dimensions always mean new complications.

Once you realize that you have something to fight for- you will rise up.

The area belonged to him, but it was controlled by a fort- up high- the thing hanging over your head. you've gotta deal with that thing over your head. That thing is controlling you and manipulating you. It is a stronghold, and you need to call it what it is and deal with it.

It's positional!

Anything that the enemy tries to use against you over and over...

That thing that is a stronghold in your life is about to become a stranglehold and cut you off from your destiny.

How do I break loose? All you have to do is change your mind. I dare you to change your mind. Think on a new level.

When you get sick and tired of where you are, you will break loose.

Wipe your tears and quit crying. Get you a plan and get moving. Pray for God to build your self-esteem until you believe that being with you is a privilege.

To the pulling down of strongholds- that means there is a weapon. You may have to fight yourself. You cannot correct what you don't confront.

Pull it down!
