Bishop Jakes - "Shake it Off"

Bishop Jakes - "Shake it Off"

People treat you the way you treat yourself.

(KJV) Luke 10:1-12  After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
...
(KJV) Luke 10:11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

We learn many numbers through scripture. Surrounded by 3. 12 disciples. Ministered to 5,000.

A barometer is the measure of the depth of your wisdom: how you respond and react to incidents.

Today we are talking about the 70 that he set aside and sent on a mission. They were to go before him to the cities  to prepare them. One man plants, one man waters, Jesus gives the increase.

It is hard to get people to be effective if they have no sense of mission. You didn't send yourself. You didn't save yourself.

There is another side of the salvation experience. It wasn't your situation that elicited his response, it was his divine purpose. We were saved according to his will. We are called according to his purpose. His saving you was toward a purpose.

"My strength is made perfect through weakness." He has already considered your shortcomings. We didn't choose him- he chose us. By his own will, begot he us.

"He sent me."

He sent the 70 out two by two. There Are some yokes that can only be broken through agreement. The spirit of disagreement is distracting from the mission. Sometimes you just have to hold your peace and lose the argument. Do not be seduced into the distraction of trying to win a battle that you were not sent here to fight.

Know what is and is not important. You could be putting energy into something that has nothin to do with getting the job done. You have to get a cavalier attitude that says, "it doesn't matter."

There are some things in your life that you got in the wrong column. Once you focus in on the mission, you are not distracted by the things that would deter our progress.

Saul was a lot more moral in nature than David- but David had a sensitive to the Holy Spirit, to discern a moment. You are so focused on yourself that you never get he job done. You got to focus on what is ahead of you. "Forget those things which are behind..."

"I send you out as sheep among wolves." I mean for you to be vulnerable. I don't mean for you to be comfortable. I didn't call you to fight your wolves though I send you amongst them. You will hear them snarl... Don't be distracted. Your nature will say to be afraid, but remember who sent you. It is the Lord's job to fight the wolves. "Thy rod and thy staff comfort me..."

He called us to discomfort. Take no thought to provisions. Focus on what you were called to do.

We weren't called to harvest but to reap- to labor. Stop weeping and reap.

I have developed a test- you have to discern if it's yours or not. You can't do that from the outside. At the level of the 5,000 only direction is needed. At the level of the 70, you need discernment.

Some houses, some cities, you go into are not for you. Rejection is a sign that it is not your place. Just because they didn't receive you, does not mean I didn't send you.

When you only have a little bit of energy, you have to be careful where you pour it. Energy (oil) invested in the wrong place brings death.

If you try to press where I have not sent you, it will come back to you void. Praise him for what you lost.

If you ever get far enough in, you'll stop falling out.

Shake it off and step into your purpose!
