God is about to change your position.

Josh 5:1-15

Some things are about to be rolled off of you today

God is about to take you to a new place and a new position; a higher place an ascendant place

Transition

4 laws of movement

1. Progress- go forward, onward, upward

2.Transgression- delays but not deters

3. Ingress- how you go in; no one can stop the way when God gets ready to send you in. He's about to open a way. When he takes you up, he first rakes you down

4. Egress- the way out. Something you have been paying for that you did not purchase. About to get a brand new lease.

Where there is no progress there is no promotion; no promotion lacks production; no production is a frustration and a feeling of no purpose.

People who refuse to move do not experience momentum

To change direction there must be a clear path. If I cannot see it, then I will be blind and not be able to see the way to go.

Occupy- expel without any fear; drive out the previous tenants

Another leader was raised to lead the movement - Joshua

A leader cannot take you where he has not lived

He brought you out to start you.

1. They had to overcome their reputation. Good and bad.

- It matters what you say to yourself about yourself.

- you are never as bad they say and you are never as good as they say. Keep on walking.

- leave your reputation for others to debate an keep on going

- who down say I am? You cannot allow what they say to stop you from walking in your purpose

- you are going to have to contend with some Ites. Hittites- violence. Perezites- vision. Cannanites (merchant materialism) and Amorites (sayer gossip pride): they will sit next to you in church. They will go to your past.

- Too many free agents in the kingdom. God gave you an address where you need to plant.

- you don't go until you are sent

2. The reproach. The disgrace the expression of disapproval.

- between the prophecy and the promise, there is a process, and the process is messy. Not everybody is entitled to see the process. It's like the birthing room

- the process is messy. When you are getting all stretched out, it is messy. It ain't always pretty.

- it's just a season. You can't judge someone by their winter and forget their summer spring and fall

- the answer to wilderness is circumcise. It's gonna hurt but it's going to be okay

- when we cut it, we are going to get it all. Let it go.

- they are in the Promised land but they ate not moving forward. Circumcise is always covenant. It's not what I deserve. It's what is his grace.

- to cut short, or to curtail: Do away with the unnecessary

- god loves you too much to let you stay there. He will plant you under someone. Submit and yield even though you don't know what it is.

- if you don't let it go, you can't move forward. I've got to dock you. I might catch you down the road.

3. Circumcision means unveiling. Unveiling always means revelation.

- god inspired hope- an expectation. Where there is no vision, the people perish. Vision: the ability to foresee. A force of future so powerful that it can mold today. Forceful enough to manifest on the outside.

- revelation is the result of illumination

- perception determines your conception

- when the spirit of god hovered over the earth and it was void (useless) he didn't speak, he moved

4. Tension is the process of stretching something until it gets tight

- your current reality and your future reality are held in a creative tension for your faith to move

- transition feels funky to the flesh. Everything I counted on... Hold up! I just gotta get my equilibrium back. Maybe it's not that I did something wrong- maybe I did something right.

5. Instruction provides information; information produces understanding; understanding produces trust; and trust is faith

- the enemy comes after your hope, bc faith cannot function without hope. Hope binds me to my faith, bc my expectation is God is able.

- you believe but you'll die in the wilderness, bc your hope is gone. Faith believers god to be there but hope anticipates the arrival time.

After circumcision he's going to set you aside for a while- getting back to he things you loved in he beginning.

- recovery period

- needed a time of solitude for the completion to take place

-God did in a moment what man couldn't do in a millennium
